If you’re not, them invest the time to improve your organisation and project management skills – it’s an investment that will pay off in less hassles and problems in the long run.
Whatever you do, start by getting out the Exhibitor Manual you received and reading it. Find out if the show has any specific restrictions, and find the deadlines for ordering things like show space, electrical, labour, cleaning, internet, etc. Get your orders in early enough to get the discount – that’s some of the easiest money you’ll save for your show budget, and you get the added benefit of being prepared for the show!
Here are some tips to consider before going to your next show:
1. Make adhesive labels for every crate and package with your company name, contact, address, phone, destination information and contents. This is not a shipping label but an inventory tag. It’s great help in case of loss, damage or delivery problems.
2. Pack a disposable camera so that your staff can photograph your fully assembled booth, damage, or important clients and contacts.
3. Copy the front and back of your credit cards, driver’s license, passport, and other important documents. Leave a copy concealed in your luggage. This gives you all the data you need to cancel cards and get replacements on the road
