The Royal Queensland Show, or the EKKA as it is fondly known, holds a special place in Queensland’s cultural heritage and in the hearts of all Queenslanders. This year’s Royal Queensland Show runs from August 5th to 14th, so head along and celebrate one of Queensland’s longest standing traditions.
For 140 years the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) has been bringing the country and city together to celebrate agriculture, tradition, food, carnival fun and much more. Only 8 days until the festivities begin!
Brisbane’s South Bank Parklands officially opened on 20 June 1992 transforming the site of Brisbane’s World Expo 88. South Bank and it’s Parklands, are one of Brisbane’s most important cultural precincts with approximately 11,000,000 visitors per year. South Bank was originally a meeting place for the traditional landowners, the Turrbal and Yuggera people.
